Support Measure H!
Thank you to the residents of Lafayette for the approval of Measure H! Over 65% of the voters approved this measure, which shows the importance to our residents of a well-run city with the resources necessary to support it. The additional ½ cent sales tax will enable the city to continue to maintain our roads, provide effective police services, provide services to our seniors, and maintain our parks. We are confident the City Council members understand their responsibilities as good stewards of this money and will be transparent to our residents on how the money is used. There will be a citizens committee that will report out to our residents about the use of this money over the next seven years.
Once again, thank you for your support to keep Lafayette a fantastic place to live and visit.

Lafayette has always been in good financial shape, with a balanced budget, no debt, and healthy emergency reserves. However, the city budget has been significantly impacted by inflation, including the increased cost of road maintenance, insurance, and state requirements. The city projects an ongoing budget shortfall starting next year.

Wide Support
Business and community leaders support Measure H because Lafayette would remain one of the lowest-taxed cities in the region. Necessities like groceries and prescriptions are exempt.
A significant portion of the funds would come from visitors who shop and dine here. 100% of the revenue from this measure stays in Lafayette under local control.

Strict Fiscal Oversight
This tax is modest and responsible, with a clear purpose of maintaining city services. It is only in effect for seven years. A citizens' oversight committee will provide transparency and accountability to you.
